For publication, the results of completed original research containing new experimental results are accepted; methodical works, including a description of new methods of biological research; materials of a theoretical nature with a statement of new principles, approaches for solving those or other problems. The journal also publishes problem articles, reviews, short reports and a chronicle. Thematic issues devoted to the most pressing problems of biology are published.

The decision to publish is made by the editorial board of the journal after reviewing, taking into account the scientific significance and relevance of the submitted materials. Articles rejected by the editorial board are not re-accepted or considered. Comments on previously published works, information on scientific conferences and events, letters to the editor, book reviews and other various chronicles are posted only on the journal's website.

The Internet site of the journal presents the contents of all issues of the journal since 2009 in full. In addition, in the "Current Issue" heading, the manuscripts accepted for publication, which received the highest peer review marks, are placed before publication. 

Submissions to the journal are made using Open Journal System, the online submission and peer review system. Registration and access is available at Submissions.

The article is submitted in electronic format (in the formats .doc, .docx, .rtf) only by downloading it through the functionality of the journal's website (Open Journal System).

The requirements for the manuscript formatting are indicated in the Appendix.
