Abstract

Lactobacilli tend to exhibit a pronounced probiotic effect on the organism. The search for new strains of probiotic lactobacilli is considered to be a prospective research direction. Bacterial cultures have been isolated from the traditional Kazakh dairy products for this research. The classical microbiological techniques to study the biological characteristics of lactobacilli, and the evaluation of genotoxic properties in vitro by the comet assay were conducted. 148 cultures of lactic acid bacteria were isolated from the various regions of Kazakhstan. Their probiotic potential was investigated. 20 strains of active probiotic bacteria were selected.
