Abstract

Integrated management of waste in different states of aggregation in order to reduce the anthropogenic impact on the environment is considered a key issue nowadays. Carbon adsorbents have been applied to the extraction of valuable substances from gases and liquids, oil refinery, chemical processes, production of alcoholic beverages, butter manufacture, industrial waste water treatment, removing toxic gases from industrial gases as well as other industries. Carbon adsorbents are obtained by pyrolysis from any organic materials. Some of them are vegetable raw materials and waste. As raw materials may be used fruit pits, nut shells, wood and other agricultural waste from plants processing, rice husk powder, wheat waste, etc. Carbon sorbents were obtained from plants during this research. Carbon sorbents’ content was investigated using a number of physical and chemical methods.
